The main use of isotope O-18 is in the form of oxygen-18 water. H2 18O is used for the synthesis of fluorodeoxyglucose (18F-FDG). This compound is used in a device called a PET scan (positron emission tomography) to detect cancerous tumors and determine the progress of the disease.
The deuterium depleted water contains 25 ppm to 120 ppm of Deuterium and has numerous positive health applications like anti-cancer/tumour, fight against side effects of chemotherapy and radiotherapy, elimination of DNA errors, heart diseases, thalassemia, nonspecific immune defence of the body, and anti-ageing .
